Dear Members of the Irish Club of Luxembourg,
Friendship Colours of the Chars is a social enterprise dedicated to empowering women in the hard-to-reach islands of northern Bangladesh by providing opportunities for a life with dignity and hope. Through training in traditional skills such as weaving, dyeing, and embroidery, the women of the “char” islands gain autonomy and the means to support themselves, and their families, as well as find purpose through the local working community.
The handicrafts - the lifestyle items and slow-fashion garments - showcase Bangladesh's beautiful craftsmanship and cultural heritage. Each item in handwoven textiles sold at our shop in the heart of Luxembourg symbolizes a woman’s journey to empowerment.
We invite you to a special Christmas Season Brunch and Friendship Colours of the Chars presentation. Join us to learn more about our work, and maybe even find a meaningful, ethical Christmas gift.
