The Irish Language Club of Luxembourg proudly presents The Willibrord Lecture 2011

The Irish teachers of the European School have organised a public lecture by Professor Dr Diarmaid Ferriter\, Chair of Modern History at University College\, Dublin.

Professor Ferriter was born in Dublin in 1972. He attended University College\, Dublin from which he obtained his B.A. (1991) and PhD (1996). He lectured in Modern Irish History at U.C.D. from 1996-1998 and subsequently served as both researcher and writer with the Dictionary of Irish Biography from 1998-1999. He was senior lecturer in Irish History at St Patrick's College D.C.U. from 1999-2008. Professor Ferriter was appointed Chair of Modern Irish History at University College\, Dublin\, in 2008. He has published widely and to international critical acclaim on this subject and has lectured on Irish history in many countries.
