On Saturday 20 September 2008, from Place Guillaume @ 14:00, till around 21:00. Enter a team on a discovery voyage through Luxembourg City to sample its lush history, rich culture, delicious gastronomy, exciting technology, and much more... Registration of teams can be made online from 26 August at www.discover-luxembourg.lu (50 Euros for a team of 4 people). About 50 teams are expected – to include clubs & associations, companies/offices, tourists, and families/friends. In fact, anyone can enter. For safety concerns, all teams must have at least one adult. Each team will collect a map with a series of clues to lure them across the city (on foot). Teams will explore a number of Event Stations to face an entertaining challenge. These challenges consist of tasty gastronomic samplings, intriguing cultural and historical puzzles, and active sporting elements - along with some stimulating brain-teasers. All will be fun with something for everyone! This event concludes with a prize-awarding ceremony. Food & drinks will be available for purchase during the accompanying live musical entertainment. In-depth knowledge of Luxembourg City will not be of any advantage! All information on the day will be in French, German & English.
The adult set dance class is starting back Wednesday September 24th at 20h.
Thereafter on the last Wednesday of each month except for December.

The objectives of the lecture series are:
1) To promote a greater awareness of Ireland's indigenous Gaelic language culture in Luxembourg.
2) To foster enhanced cultural and historic understanding amongst the peoples of Ireland and Luxembourg.
Towards this end the committee of Cumann Gaelach Lucsamburg agreed in 2008 to name the lecture series in honour of the Anglo Saxon missionary and patron saint of Luxembourg, St. Willibrord. St. Willibrord, who studied for 10 years in Ireland
( from 678 - 688 A. D. ), is both an historic embodiment of the ancient links binding Ireland and Luxembourg and a powerful symbol of the close cultural ties which unite all Europeans. Though not an Irishman, St. Willibrord is also, quite possibly, the first Irish language speaker to have set foot in Luxembourg upon his arrival here over one thousand years ago.
The lecture will be preceded by a performance of traditional Irish Music by the talented musicians of Comhaltas Luxembourg and will conclude with an informal reception at which members of the general public in attendance will have an opportunity to meet with Dr Malcolm and also to partake of a broad range of delicious wines and tasty food.
Tickets will be available at the door on the night or can be purchased in advance form the committee of Cumann Gaelach Lucsamburg or by contacting ballinroe@yahoo.com

Since there will be no “St. Patrick’s Experience” in the Place d’Armes this year, it’s back to The Black Stuff Marquee for The St. Patrick’s Day Party 2009. We intend to keep the party spirit going with an excellent line-up for the evening of the Tues.17th. March.
Kicking off are “The New Hamsterjams” who are well known locally and have played numerous venues throughout the country. Stephen Moynihan who entertained us last year in the Place d’Armes will also be there with his very own musical style.
From Ireland we have Feargal Mc Carthy and his band Sin É. Many will remember Feargal from his time in Luxembourg and previous gigs at The Black Stuff. Feargal will be providing the best of Irish drinking songs and other well loved classics.
Topping the bill are “The Mahones”. Based in Toronto they have toured extensively in Europe and the U.S. with bands like ‘The Dropkick Murphys”. Playing their own compositions in the style of “The Pogues” they are definitely not to be missed. We are thrilled to have them back again at The Black Stuff for what guarantees to be one fantastic night.
