Gilda the interior designer loves Otto the painter and Leo the playwright, both of whom love her but are also devoted to each other. Any attempt by Gilda to exclude either of them is doomed to failure, and the complex and revolving relationship between them ends in an ambiguous 'design for living'...

Noël Coward's celebrated comedy about sex, love and lust takes three free-spirited young artists cavorting through London, Paris and New York in 1932. Widely considered to be scandalous when it first appeared in 1932, Design for Living asks questions about our sexuality, social mores, the nature of fidelity and the self-obsessed artist. Although filled with sparkling trademark Coward quips and dialogue, it explores darker themes that can seem controversial even today such as the strongly hinted at “ménage à trois”. The fact that it was a roaring success on its debut is testament to the play's excellent structure and enduring wit.

An Irish/Iranian/Geordie stand-up, Patrick Monahan is certainly one of the friendliest comedians on the UK circuit. With a sharp mind, he has developed a chatty & friendly, story telling style.

Patrick has appeared on numerous Television shows as a presenter, guest interviewee, panel member and performer. Currently much sought after as a regular TV & studio warm up - on shows such as: BBC 1’s Bafta award winning 'Friday Night Jonathan Ross', “The Friday Night Project”, and “The Kumars at No.42”.

Patrick not only engages the audience with charming banter about local affairs and universal issues, but also combines animated story telling style that draws on his own experiences of growing up in Teesside, (North East of England) of Irish and Iranian Parentage!

After a success full show in Edinburgh last year (Feel the Love), Patrick is playing at the Lime-O-Lux club at Scotts for the second time.

  • pls ensure to bring proper sports shoes along as otherwise you will not be allowed onto the running track.
  • no nordic walking poles are allowed!
  • the track will be divided in 2 - one part for joggers & other part for walkers. Hence you can choose which you want to do.
  • Our allocated place in the hall: is 229. Please ask for directions on arrival at Le Coque from the information desk to know where this place is. The team name is 'IRELAND'. Team captain David Barry. David will hang an Irish flag in this area to make it easier for you to find it. - David will leave a black ruck sack at our allocated place with drink vouchers inside.
  • changing rooms are available on the left hand side also. You will see the entrance just off the track.
  • If you have T-shirts still from last years event pls bring them along!
  • Finally the idea is for one team member to be on the running piste at all times. As we all know each other please arrange to hand over the arm band at the entrance to the running piste. People normally line up along the track to meet their team members and hand over the band. If you are not sure about this please phone the person on the list before you to ensure the smooth hand over of the arm band.

For the old hands from last year the above should make sense! For people doing this for the first time pls give me a call as it will only take a five minute chat to explain the event in detail to you. It really is not complicated!
